Motorcycle adventure in Montenegro
Places filled: 5/6
A week-long motorcycle trip will take you to sunny Montenegro on the Adriatic Sea. This tiny country on the Balkan Peninsula is home to Europe's southernmost fjords and some of the most amazing mountain motorbike routes. This trip is not a ride from one "old stone" to another, but combines an exciting adventure on two wheels with the pearls of Montenegro. The keywords of the trip are active vacation, where you can do both rafting and mountain hiking, and enjoying the enchanting nature. This is both while tilting chicanes on a bike saddle and admiring the mountain views in Durmitor National Park. The sea water is warm and crystal clear, which you can also get to know more about during the trip.
We'll combine everything Montenegro has to offer with a motorcycle adventure on both gravel and asphalt. Sound like a plan?

Travel schedule
Day 1 (30.06) - Arrival in Montenegro
30.06 at 10.30 direct flight from Tallinn Airport to Tivat, Montenegro. First introductions on the plane and at the airport, we arrive at 12.30. Then the transfer takes us to the starting point of the motorcycle trip, about 10 km away.
Everyone is equipped with Cardo helmet communication devices to enhance the quality of the tour. This way, you won't miss any jokes or anything beautiful on the side of the road. In addition, communication helps keep the group together and makes the ride safer.
Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 motorcycles and rental equipment are reviewed, and the first gear is down. 😊
But first things first — let's find some local food for lunch.
We don't plan on doing a lot of mileage on the day of arrival, but we will do a tour of the Tivat peninsula. We can choose between a drive along the beautiful coastline, lined with sea views and cafes, or a slightly more challenging drive on gravel roads over the mountains. It will be decided upon starting.
We spend the evening and night in the old town of Kotor. We park our bikes and check into the hotel. In the evening, we have a tour and dinner in the old town.
This day we will cover approximately 50 km and spend the night in a hotel/apartment (depending on the size of the group).
Day 2 (01.07) - The adventures begin
In the morning, a leisurely breakfast at the hotel and an introduction to the day's schedule.
Our first destinations are the treats of military historians, submarine bunkers carved into the mountain. Usually tourists visit them from the sea in motorboats, but we have a unique opportunity to visit them by land and even go inside them.
The next destination is the tourist attraction Blue Cave, which is also visited by motorboats. But we will solve this visit with Estonian ingenuity. We will rent kayaks or SUP boards and visit these caves by sea on our own. Many smaller caves have an opening where a kayak can barely fit in. Bring a headlamp.
After our sea adventures, we head to the mountain village of Nieguš for a late lunch. Then we head along mountain roads to Lake Shkodra and on to our accommodation in the capital, Podgorica.
This day we will cover approximately 150 km and spend the night in a hotel/apartment (depending on the size of the group).
Day 3 (02.07) - side roads
Be sure to rest the night before and eat well in the morning. This day will be a longer day of riding, but not only that. Let's see what more exciting sections the local Montenegro trail master has to offer us.
This day is intended solely for enjoying motorcycling. We will ride along smaller and more challenging roads towards the north of the country. We will weave in more interesting sections as much as time and pace allow. We will have lunch at a local restaurant on the way, and dinner will await us at a campsite on the Bosnia-Montenegro border.
We will cover 150-200 km that day and spend the night at a campsite.
Day 4 (03.07) - Rafting
What could be more exciting than breakfast being prepared before your eyes and a little anticipation for the day's events.
A rafting adventure awaits you on the Tara River. A river that flows through the deepest canyon in Europe and whose water is so clean that it is safe to drink straight from the boat. Rafting sounds like a dangerous thing for a flatlander from Estonia, but there is actually nothing to fear there, no one falls into the water and no one gets hurt. Up to 8 people are on the boat + a local skipper.
On this water trip, we will stop at a river bar and a large waterfall. For the brave, we will have the opportunity to do 8 m cliff jumping to do.
Back at the campsite we have a late lunch and rest. Later we start preparing for the next day. On the way to the shop we pass one of the highest dams in Europe, Mratinje, and behind it one of the largest reserves of drinking water.
We will cover about 70 km that day and spend the night at a campsite.
Day 5 (04.07) - Montenegro Roof - Bobotov Kuk
Probably the most challenging day of this trip. A hike to the highest peak in Montenegro, Bobtov Kuk, in Durmitor National Park.
We wake up early at the campsite to drive to the parking lot at the foot of the mountain. We want to start our day as early as possible so that walking in the mountains is cooler and more enjoyable. The mountain hike is rather difficult for those who have never been in the mountains before. But in return, we get breathtaking views and absolute company. As with rafting, this journey is also tried and tested by an ordinary Estonian person. 😊
You need to bring: hiking shoes, backpack, 3 liters of water, lunch, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, valuables from the motorcycle.
We end the day in the nearby mountain town of Žabljak.
This day we will cover approximately 100 km and spend the night in a hotel/apartment (depending on the size of the group).
Day 6 (05.07) - Durmitor National Park
Since the active days are behind us, we take it easy in the morning. We look around the city and set off.
The main place we will visit is the Tara Bridge with the surrounding Tara Canyon. Those who wish can also try zip-lining there. The further plan is to follow the side roads towards the center of Montenegro.
By evening we will reach the city of Niksic, from where we will set off again towards the sea tomorrow.
This day we will cover approximately 200 km and spend the night in a hotel/apartment (depending on the size of the group).
Day 7 (06.07) - beach holiday
That day we arrive in the small resort town of Perast. There we enjoy the warm sea water and the sun. For a change, we take a local boat to a small island to still get a proper tourist feeling.
In the evening we return our trusty motorcycles and set off to enjoy our last evening.
This day we will cover approximately 50 km and spend the night in a hotel/apartment (depending on the size of the group).
Day 8 (07.07) - back to work routine
With memory cards and Google accounts full of travel experiences, we say goodbye to Montenegro.
The flight from Tivat to Tallinn takes off at 13.30, landing in Tallinn at 17.30:XNUMX. Last goodbyes and then reunions with those back home!
Equipment
The price of the trip includes the necessary rental motorcycle equipment (helmet, jacket, pants, rain pants, rain jacket, gloves, boots). If you have your own equipment and would like to use it, please bring it with you (we have a 20 kg checked baggage allowance) and let us know by filling out the form. We will provide the necessary riding equipment with the motorcycles on site.
In addition to motorcycle clothing and protection, we can get bike bags so that we can always carry our personal belongings.
