Kondimootor 30/50: Alatskivi Snowstorms

THE EVENT IS OVER!

Kondimootor 30 / 50:
Alatskivi Snowstorms

After a short break we are back Kondimootori endurance hikes. The next winter stage takes us to explore the snowy grounds of Alatskivi Castle. Our grounds are quite large, so it will take a whole day and we will have to cover 30 or 50 km of forest trails and side roads. Since a lot of snow can be expected due to the time of year, the trail is also easier compared to the summer one. Kondimootorevery. Of course, this doesn't mean that you shouldn't make an effort, the distance is still considerable. You can choose the pace according to your abilities - at a leisurely hike, at a running pace, or both in turn.

There are plenty of snack points along the trail, which many participants have said they had to go walking again the next day - their stomachs were so full by the end of the day! Our lovely organizing team will be helping and encouraging participants at the points. Bring your friends and come and test yourself. In any case, a pleasant Saturday with a sweet sense of achievement is guaranteed!

THE EVENT HAS ENDED

Important information

Kondimootor is open to all who wish, but it should be borne in mind that it is still a fairly long hiking distance. Therefore, assess your fitness and ability accordingly and choose a distance (and start time) that is within your reach. The organizers do not take responsibility for any injuries, damage, etc. that may occur during the event - participants participate in the event entirely at their own risk. However, this disclaimer should not discourage you, it is a fun and exciting event!

COMPETITION CENTER: START AND FINISH

The competition center, or start and finish, is located at Alatskivi Castle: see on Google Maps. When you arrive, follow the directions. Kondimootori tags.

Before going to the track, you must go through the competition center, where we will register you and give you competition materials. There is a toilet available at the competition center.

The start is open at 08.00-10.00 and the finish line closes at 22.00Competition materials will be available from 07.30.

PARKING

You can park in the Alatskivi Castle parking lot and on the surrounding roads when it is full. When parking, make sure that you do not block other cars or obstruct traffic. Also, follow the parking regulations in force.

TRANSPORT AND ACCOMMODATION

There is no organized transportation and the course is a circle (start and finish are in the same place). When it comes to transportation, we recommend using the help of family or acquaintances if possible so that you don't have to drive back yourself when you're tired.

There is no official overnight stay. If you wish, you must find accommodation yourself. For example, there are several holiday homes on the shores of Lake Peipsi.

COMPETITION MATERIALS

Competition materials will be available 30 minutes before the start (07.30:10.00) and until the start closes (XNUMX:XNUMX). To avoid the queue, it is worth arriving at the start later than the planned pace and distance allow. Each competitor will receive the following materials at the start point before going onto the track:

  • Trail map

  • Race number (+safety pins)

  • Kondimootori stickers

COURSE

The hiking/racing trail is circular, meaning the start and finish are in the same place. The trail passes through various hiking trails in the Alatskivi and Padakõrve nature reserves and side roads. The trail has dirt, gravel, and asphalt roads, but it is expected that a large part of them will still be covered in snow. Depending on the snow conditions, the first runners may not have the same trail in front of them.

There are practically no trail markings or signposts on the trail (except at points), so it is strongly recommended to use a GPS navigation device (a GPS sports watch or smartphone is also suitable) or use a paper map, but this is an emergency option. A paper map is not a special orienteering map! It would be good if there was a map reader or at least a technically savvy navigator in the group. Fellow hikers who can be followed or asked for help are also helpful, but of course you should not rely on this alone.

NB! The length of the trail can be estimated with a margin of error of +/- 3 km, and in case of error, the actual trail may also be longer.

The course map (PDF and various GPS formats) with marked waypoints can be downloaded. The course map and a more detailed course description will be sent to participants in the pre-race newsletter after registration closes (i.e. approximately one week before the event).

CATERING AND SNACK/BEVERAGE POINTS

We have set up the following drink and snack points along the trail:

Short course (30 km):

  1. Drink and snack point (Fresh)

  2. Food stand (MEKI)

Long trail (50 km):

  1. Drink and snack point (Fresh)

  2. Food stand (MEKI)

  3. Drink and snack point

At the drink and snack points, you can replenish your drink supplies and have snacks (e.g. bananas, cookies, candy, etc.). In addition, at one of the marked food points, each participant will receive a hiking food pack and hot water to prepare it. You can choose the hiking food you like from the options offered in the registration form; those who register after the official end of registration are not guaranteed a food choice and can choose from the reserve food on site. We recommend that you bring your own cutlery (spoon/spork) to reduce the amount of waste; hiking food can be conveniently eaten directly from the pack.

At the finish line, participants will be offered warm soup for refreshment.

Snack and food stations are generally quite well-stocked and you don't have to worry about going hungry. Of course, you can also put whatever you like in your pocket/bag if you wish. Water and sports drinks are also available at each station. If possible, use your own drinking vessels to reduce the number of cups you use.

The food and snack points are staffed by cheerful helpers.

INTERRUPTION AND EMERGENCIES

In case of serious injuries or a life-threatening incident, call first. emergency number 112 and then notify the organizing team if possible (+ 372 56565159, Kristen or +372 5238441, Allan). Please save the numbers of the organizing team in your phone so that you can contact us in case of problems.

If you are completely exhausted and unable to continue on your own, please inform the organizing team and we will come to pick you up. If possible, please stop at the marked points where it is easier for us to pick you up. We ask that you do not use this option as a convenience service, as the organizing team's resources are limited and are intended primarily for emergencies.

Also, be caring and help fellow fighters if you see someone in trouble.

PRIZES AND TIMETABLE

All successful finishers will be awarded with congratulations and a special medal. We will record the start and finish times of the participants and publish them to the participants after the race. To get a time accurate to the second, everyone must start their own watch. Since this is not a race and prizes are not awarded based on ranking, there is no point in making a fuss. Victory is completing the course and feeling good!

RULES

  • If corona restrictions are in effect during the competition, they must be followed.

  • You must complete the trail on your own (it means on foot).

  • We ask you to stay on the trail so as not to damage the vegetation and nature.

  • Friendly dogs and other companion animals are allowed and participate for free.

  • Please be respectful of local residents.

  • Littering and any form of pollution of nature is strictly prohibited. All trash must be taken with you or thrown into a trash bag at one of the drinking points.

In case of serious violation of the rules, the organizers have the right to disqualify the participant... so far this has not been necessary, we will continue in the same spirit. :)
