Third in line KondimootorThe 30st series endurance hike is typical of August - sun, greenery and rushing water. This time we will take on the magical hiking trails of Taevaskoja and celebrate the 30th anniversary of the restoration of Estonian independence a day later, which is also indicated by the distance of the shorter trail, XNUMX km. Everyone is welcome - those who are covering such a long distance for the first time, hobby hikers or (hobby) athletes pursuing a sporting achievement. In any case, a pleasant Saturday with a sweet sense of achievement is guaranteed!

There are plenty of snack points along the route, where a supportive organizing team will assist participants and motivate them to keep striving. By the way, in previous KondimootorThere have been only a few dropouts on the stages, so the chances of finishing the race are very high; the distances seem long and can be completed in one day. So, bring your friends and come enjoy a nice effort in the fresh air.

Due to pandemic restrictions, there will be no mass start this time either, but there will be a start window during which you can spread out and go to the track on your own. In addition, we will not be doing any indoor activities and we will minimize the gathering of people in the event area. More details below.

Important information

Kondimootor is open to all who wish, but it should be borne in mind that it is still a fairly long hiking distance. Therefore, assess your fitness and ability accordingly and choose a distance (and start time) that is within your reach. The organizers do not take responsibility for any injuries, damage, etc. that may occur during the event - participants participate in the event entirely at their own risk. However, this should not discourage you, it is a fun and enjoyable event!

The start is open at 09.00-11.00 and the finish line closes at 22.00.

Parking is available on the grassy areas on both sides of the road near the railway near the competition center (on the map). If the spaces are full, you can also park on the roadside. When parking, please be considerate of other road users.

TRANSPORT AND ACCOMMODATION

We recommend using family or friends for transportation so that you don't have to drive back yourself when you're tired. There is also a bus stop near the competition center. Taevaskoja train station.

There is no official place to stay, but those who wish can certainly find accommodation in the surrounding area.

COMPETITION MATERIALS

Competition materials will be available from the start of the race (9.00:11 AM) or immediately before it and until the start closes (00:XNUMX AM). Each competitor will receive the following materials at the start point before entering the track:

  • Trail map

  • Race number (+ safety pins)

  • Promotional stickers and emblems

COURSE

The hiking/racing trail is circular, meaning the start and finish are in the same place. The trail passes through various Taevaskoja, Kiidjärve and Mammaste hiking trails and is without direction signs. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to use a GPS navigation device (a GPS sports watch or smartphone is also suitable) or follow a map (this is more of a backup option), and a certain level of orientation skills or at least a technically savvy navigator in the group is required. Fellow hikers who you can follow or ask for help from are also helpful, but of course you should not rely on this alone.

When moving in dim light or darkness, a flashing red light must be attached to the back, a reflector or reflective material visible from both the front and back, and we recommend using a lit headlamp (see “mandatory equipment”). This helps ensure the participant’s visibility both in the forest and on roads, and is also helpful in searching if necessary.

We have set up the following drink and snack points along the trail:

30 km track:

  1. Drink and snack point

  2. Food stand (Tactical food pack)

50 km track:

  1. Drink and snack point

  2. Food stand (Tactical food pack)

  3. Drink and snack point

The course map (PDF and various GPS file formats) with marked waypoints can be downloaded. The course map and a more detailed course description will be sent to participants in the pre-race newsletter after registration closes (i.e. approximately one week before the event).

CATERING AND DRINK POINTS

There are drink and snack points on the course where you can replenish your drink supplies and have snacks (e.g. bananas, cookies, candy, etc.). In addition, there is a designated food point for each participant. Tactical food pack A hiking food pack and warm water to prepare it. You can choose your favorite hiking food from the options provided in the registration form. You must bring your own cutlery (spoon/spork), but you can eat the Tactical Foodpack food conveniently straight from the pack.

Snack and food stations are generally quite well-stocked and you don't have to worry about going hungry. Of course, you can also put whatever you like in your pocket/bag if you wish. Water and sports drinks are also available at each station. If possible, use your own drinking vessels to reduce the number of cups you use.

All points are staffed by cheerful assistants.

If you are completely exhausted and unable to continue on your own, please inform the organizing team and we will come to pick you up. We ask that you do not use this option as a “convenience service”, as the organizing team’s resources are limited and are intended primarily for emergencies.

Also, be caring and help fellow fighters if you see someone in trouble.

PRIZES AND TIMETABLE

Successful finishers will be awarded with congratulations and a medal. We will record the participants' start and finish times and publish them to the participants after the race. To get a time accurate to the second, everyone must start their watch themselves. Since this is not a race and prizes are not awarded based on ranking, there is no point in making a fuss. Victory is completing the course and feeling good!
