Kondimootor 30/50: Kalevipoeg Trail
Endurance hiking series Kondimootor The opening takes us to the vicinity of Kääpa in Jõgeva County, where the starting point is Kalevipoeg Chamber - hence the name of the trail. It's time to bring out your inner Kalevi boy (or girl) by putting your legs to the test with a fairly long hiking distance - 30 km or 50 km - through beautiful Estonian forests. The goal is to complete the trail and the time will not be recorded, those who wish can do it for themselves. Both (ultra)runners and hikers are welcome; for example, those preparing for a mountain trip can throw on a larger backpack so that the preparation is especially relevant. To the delight of hikers, we will also assign pacers to both trails, if possible, with whom you can complete the trail at a leisurely pace and also enjoy the pleasant company spirit.
It should be noted that due to the current restrictions, we will allow the participants to follow the set course and this is not a mass event. As a result, there will be no mass start, but there will be a start window during which you can go to the course on your own. In addition, there will be no indoor activities and we will minimize the gathering of people in the event area. More details below.

Important information
Kondimootor is open to all who wish, but it should be borne in mind that it is still a fairly long hiking distance. Therefore, assess your fitness and ability accordingly and choose a distance (and start time) that is within your reach. Every hiker must be able to cope independently in any situation, at least until help arrives. The organizers also do not take responsibility for any injuries, damage, etc. that may occur during the event - participants participate in the event entirely at their own risk.
Start and finish point / competition center
Before going onto the track, you need to collect your race materials from the manned point next to the starting point (see below); upon arrival, follow the directional signs. Due to the dispersal requirements and restrictions, we cannot allow you to store your belongings - please leave a change of clothes, etc. in the car, if possible. There is a toilet at the starting point.
The start opens at 08:00 and the finish line closes at 22:00.
The start and finish points are located at Kalevapoja Koja: see on Google Maps.
Parking
You can park near the starting point, i.e. Kalevipoeg Koja (On Google Maps) in the parking lot, where there are spaces for about 30-40 cars; if they are full, you can park in other nearby parking lots or, if possible, on the roadside. Please follow traffic signs and regulations when parking.
Accommodation and washing facilities
Due to restrictions, there are no overnight accommodations or laundry facilities at the event. We also recommend using friends or acquaintances who can transport you to the competition so that you don't have to drive back yourself when you're tired.
Competition materials
Competition materials will be available 30 minutes before the start (7:30) and until the start closes (11:00). Each competitor will receive the following materials next to the starting point before entering the track:
Waterproof trail map
Information card (organizer contact number, instructions)
Promotional stickers
Rada
The hiking/racing trail is circular, meaning the start and finish are in the same place. The trail is a modified version of the Kaiu bike trail. In certain places, you can follow the RMK bike trail markings, but since it is a modified trail, you should still follow a map or GPS navigation device (the minimum requirement is a mobile phone with a trail map and a battery bank, a handheld GPS is recommended). Therefore, some orienteering skills are required, or at least a technically savvy navigator in the group.
The trail passes through forest trails as well as various roads. On roads, please keep to the left side of the road and be aware of possible traffic. When traveling in the dark or at dusk, you must have a flashing red light attached to your back, a reflector or reflective material visible from both front and back, and we recommend using a lighted headlamp (see “mandatory equipment”).
We have set up the following drink and snack points along the trail:
30 km track:
Drink and snack point
Food stand
50 km track:
Drink and snack point
Food stand
Drink and snack point
The course map (in GPS file formats) with marked waypoints can be downloaded; we will send it to participants in the pre-race newsletter and also publish it here shortly.
Catering
There are drink and snack points along the trail where you can replenish your drink supplies and have snacks (e.g. bananas, cookies, candy, etc.). In addition, each participant will receive a hiking food pack and hot water for preparing it at one of the marked food points. You must bring your own cutlery (spoon/spork).
Outage and emergencies
In case of serious injuries or a life-threatening incident, call first. emergency number 112 and then notify the management team (+ 372 56565159, Kristen). Please save the number of the organizing team in your phone so that you can contact us in case of problems.
If you are completely exhausted and unable to continue on your own, please inform the organizing team and we will come to pick you up. If possible, please stop at the marked points where it is easier for us to pick you up. We ask that you do not use this option as a “convenience service”, as the organizing team’s resources are limited and are intended primarily for emergencies.
Also, be caring and help fellow fighters if you see someone in trouble.
Awards and timekeeping
Successful graduates will be awarded with congratulations and a medal. There will be no official timing, everyone must do it themselves if they wish.
Rules
Participants must follow all current corona restrictions and avoid gatherings. These rules must also be followed on the track, including the 2 + 2 rule. It is recommended to wear a mask in the competition center and in crowded places.
You must complete the trail on your own (it means on foot).
We ask you to stay on the trail so as not to damage the forest vegetation.
We ask that you do not disturb the privacy of local residents. In some places, the trail does cross private roads - follow the map and just be respectful of the locals. :)
Littering and any form of pollution of nature is strictly prohibited. All trash must be taken with you or thrown into a trash bag at one of the drinking points.
In case of serious violation of the rules, the organizers have the right to disqualify the participant.
Equipment
The list of mandatory equipment is designed to ensure the participant's visibility and findability on the trail and the ability to survive independently in the event of getting lost or in an emergency until help arrives. It should be borne in mind that electronics can run out of power quite quickly in colder weather and should not be relied on solely.
