Basic rock climbing training: belaying

Basic rock climbing training: belaying

From climbing gyms to independent rock climbing trips

The prerequisite for participation in the training is the following:top rope) climbing and belaying skills. The belay training will take place on 09.09.23 in Tartu (see here).

Are you good at climbing with top belay, but still have a shaky foot when it comes to bottom belay? Heading to climb rocks, but not sure how to clean the station exactly? Want to brush up on your bottom belay skills? Then you're exactly the target audience for this training!

During the one-day training, we will learn how to secure the bottom (lead climbing), we will practice clicking and falling and get acquainted with the basic features of bottom belaying. The goal of the training is to learn to climb independently on real rocks. Beginners with top belaying skills as well as those who would like to consolidate previously learned skills are welcome. We focus on sport climbing.

The training is practical in nature - we will get our hands dirty and try everything out. We will climb an 8,5 m high indoor wall in the University of Tartu sports building, but you don't have to be afraid of bone-breaking athletic effort for now.

Those who complete the training will also receive a 5% discount on the rock climbing trip taking place from September 17th to 22nd. Crag Express: Jura, Poland (NB! Different discounts cannot be combined).
