Kaspar Kirss
My interest in nature has been there since early childhood, when I went on hikes with my parents. My favorite things to do in my youth were kayaking. My first big hike abroad was in Slovakia in 1999, and I haven't been able to do it since - I'm always back in nature!
I started mountain sports in 2001, when I tried alpine skiing for the first time. A year later, I swapped skis for a snowboard and started actively freestyle I have now competed both in Estonia and abroad, participated in international snowboarding films, and trained new mountain athletes in various Estonian mountain resorts.
I work as a building designer on a daily basis, and in the winter as a coach at the Nõmme Snow Academy. MSc in industrial and civil engineering.
Main travel interests: mountain hikes, hiking, downhill skiing and snowboarding, winter hikes, canoe trips, motorcycle adventures.
Language skills: Estonian, English.
Training/courses: EKR4 snowboard coach; alpine ski instructor; Alpinism ABC (R. Juurmaa) workshop: rescue work in the mountains; M. Aasa's various alpinism trainings and lectures; medical training: trauma situations.
