I have always been fascinated by diverse and extreme hobbies and all kinds of challenges. When I got the hiking bug as a little kid, it was only a matter of time before I found my way to extreme forms of hiking. Apart from the fact that the mountains are simply beautiful, hiking is a relatively good metaphor for life… at first the peak seems incredibly high and far away, but one step at a time you push yourself forward. When you finally get there, you are briefly happy, but you are so tired and exhausted that you can't last long there. It's about the journey, right?
In addition elamus+ I have a PhD in medicine and have done a few other exciting things. I would sum up my professional activities with the word “scientifically enterprising”.
Main travel interests: mountain hikes, walking tours, ski and snowboard trips, rock climbing, and exotic destinations and cultural spaces.
Language skills: Estonian, English.
Training/courses: EKR3 mountaineering trainer qualification; ERL rope instructor certificate; REI (USA) trainings: introduction to rock climbing, rock climbing technique and movement (lvl 2), rock climbing anchor systems, rappelling (lvl 2); Alpinism ABC (R. Juurmaa) workshops: “rescue work in the mountains” and “climbing in a group of 2 and 3 people”; M. Aasa’s various alpinism trainings and lectures; TÜASK alpinism training; Climbing Ministry bouldering DEF course; Tallinn Rock Climbing Club climbing card training; Finland lead-climbing card.
Supervised/organized: TÜASK/Elamus+ mountaineering training (assistant coach 2021-22, head coach 2022-…); various mountaineering training courses; as a group leader, has organized mountain hikes, ski trips, other adventure trips and sporting events since 2019.
Made tops: Aconcagua (6961m), Denali (6190m), Pik Razdelnaya (6148m), Kilimanjaro (5895m), Ararat (5137m), Yuhin (5130m), Kazbek (5033m), Mont Blanc (4810m) x3, Dufourspitze (4634m; by Italy, AD), Zumsteinspitze (4563m), Signalkuppe (4554m) x2, Matterhorn (4478m), Mt. Whitney (4419m; Mountaineer's trail, solo), Corno Nero (4322m), Mt Blanc du Tacul (4248m), Salbitschijen (2985m; Südgrat, D/6a), Corno Grande (2912m; Direttissima trail in winter, AD+).
