Covid-19 FAQ

Here are some answers to frequently asked questions about Covid-19, especially in the context of travel.

Please note that restrictions and requirements due to Covid-19 are constantly changing. We also ask for our passengers' understanding in this regard.

  • Should I get vaccinated against Covid-19?

Our recommendation is to get vaccinated. It is much easier and safer for vaccinated people to travel.

  • Should I take out travel insurance with Covid-19 protection?

Definitely. We recommend taking out travel insurance well in advance of your trip and familiarizing yourself with the insurance terms and conditions. Traveling is more financially risky these days and it pays to be insured.

  • What happens if the trip is canceled due to Covid-19 restrictions?

If new restrictions are implemented before the trip that prevent the trip from taking place (e.g., border closures), we will refund the advance payment in full. Alternatively, if possible and the travelers agree, we may also choose a new equivalent destination and travel package and/or change the date of the trip.

  • When do you notify passengers if a trip is canceled?

When canceling (or changing) a trip due to Covid-19 restrictions, we will notify travelers when it is clear that the trip cannot take place in this form. It is difficult to say exactly at this point, as restrictions are constantly changing and unpredictable. However, we will keep registered participants informed of what is happening.

  • Do I need a Covid-19 certificate?

If necessary, then it is valid Covid-19 certificate necessary for travel. We strongly recommend that you get vaccinated, which will make travel much easier and safer. The traveler is responsible for the validity and relevance of their own Covid-19 certificate.

  • What happens if I get sick right before my trip?

Travelers with an active illness are not permitted to travel. If you suspect you are sick or have symptoms, we recommend that you take a reliable Covid-19 test (PCR or antigen) as soon as possible.

We recommend taking out travel insurance that also includes travel disruption coverage related to Covid-19. In such cases, the insurance provider will primarily handle reimbursement of the travel fee, so we recommend that you carefully read the terms and conditions of your travel insurer. • The borders are open and the trip is happening, but the trip seems too dangerous to me...

We recommend consulting with a responsible travel agent to begin with; for some trips (e.g. hiking trips), staying in crowded places may be minimal and therefore the risk of infection may be low.

If, despite everything, you decide not to participate in the trip, the following applies: travel conditions the conditions set out in point 5. In short, the advance payment is generally non-refundable and compensation rates may apply depending on how much time is left until the start of the trip; the possibility of finding a replacement passenger remains.
If a replacement cannot be found in a timely manner, we will do our best to refund the traveler for any costs that can be canceled (e.g. accommodation nights, etc.).

  • What happens if my flight is cancelled?

Elamus+ does not sell or broker airline tickets, and therefore we are not responsible for the operation of flights. However, if this should happen, our travel agents will help you find alternative flights or transportation options.

In such cases, compensation will generally be handled by the airline or your travel insurance provider. If you are unable to travel due to cancelled flights, the following applies: in travel conditions the conditions set out.
